About the Program
小蓝视频鈥檚 award-winning Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences is now offering a Pathways to Speech Language Pathology program. For one semester, coursework will be completed online. The program then continues in Italy where you'll travel for in-person field and study experience in May of 2025.
Pathways to Speech Language Pathology is specifically designed for students who have completed a baccalaureate degree in a field other than Communication Sciences and Disorders and need to complete specific required coursework before applying to a master鈥檚 program in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP). The courses meet the pre-admission requirements necessary for consideration and potential admission into an accredited SLP university in the United States and can be completed in one summer.

How to ApplyAdmissions
- This program first requires acceptance into 小蓝视频. The application for Summer 2025 will open in August 2024.
- Upon acceptance, you will receive further information from the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders and the Study Abroad & Away office.

Tentative schedule for May 7 - 17, 2025
- Day One (Wednesday, May 7): Arrival in Rome
- Morning: Transfer from Rome Airport (FCO).
- Afternoon: Program begins and check in.
- Evening: Walking Tour and Group dinner.
- Day Two (Thursday, May 8): Rome and the Vatican
- Morning: Breakfast at Hotel.
- Afternoon: Vatican Tour (Cathedral Attire).
- Evening: Dinner on your own in Rome.
- Day Three (Friday, May 9): Rome and Trastevere
- Morning: Breakfast at Hotel and Free Morning.
- Afternoon: Trastevere and Roman food tour.
- Evening: Dinner on your own in Rome.
- Day Four (Saturday, May 10): Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius
- Morning: Breakfast at Hotel and check out.
- Depart Rome for Pompeii
- Afternoon: Tour and Vineyard Lunch and Guided tour of Pompeii.
- Evening: Check into the Sant'Anna Institute Residence Hall. Dinner on your own.
- Day Five (Sunday, May 11): Guided Tour of the Amalfi Coast
- Morning: Breakfast in Positano included.
- Afternoon: Guided tour by private bus visiting Positano and Amalfi.
- Evening: Dinner on your own in Sorrento.
- Day Six (Monday, May 12): Guided Tour of the Amalfi Coast
- Morning: Walking tour of Sorrento and lunch on your own.
- Afternoon: Lectures on "The Public Healthcare Systems of Italy" and "Comparing Public vs. Private Healthcare Systems."
- Evening: Sunset boat cruise around Isle of Capri. Dinner on your own.
- Day Seven (Tuesday, May 13): SLP Clinical Observations and Naples
- Morning: Clinical observations at local clinics and hospitals in Naples at Villa Ginestre and Villa Azzurra.
- Afternoon: Group lunch included.
- Evening: Free time to enjoy Sorrento on your own.
- Day Eight (Wednesday, May 14): SLP in Southern Italy
- Morning: Lecture by local Speech Pathologists. Coffee break in Sorrento.
- Afternoon: Lecture on Comparison Health Systems: Italy and the United States.
- Evening: Cooking Class at Chez Barone and Dinner.
- Day Nine (Thursday, May 15): Full Day Trip to the Island of Capri
- Morning: Travel by ferry to Capri with a tour guide.
- Afternoon: Group lunch in Capri included.
- Evening: Dinner on your own in Sorrento.
- Day Ten (Friday, May 16): Path of the Gods
- Morning: Hike the Path of the Gods with professional guide.
- Evening: Dinner on your own in Sorrento.
- Day Eleven (Saturday, May 17): Departure from Naples Airport (NAP)
