Practice: Wednesday and Friday afternoons, plus weekend/flexible scheduling
Home Club: with some additional visits to
Dues: $695 annually
Founded in 2009 as a club sport, the СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Sporting Clays, Skeet and Trap Team became a varsity team sport in April 2011. We have the proud distinction of being a 35-time (Divisional/Event) ACUI and SCTP Collegiate HOA National Champion, and a number of our students have garnered All American status and even been invited to the U.S. Olympic Training Camp.
Leadership
Under the guidance of Founding Program Director and Head Coach David T. Dobson, the JUSSTC is run by the members of the team. Even team leadership is voted upon by membership, rather than being assigned by the coaches.
Equipment
Our home club is the Jacksonville Clay Target Sports, but we also visit Amelia Shotgun Sports. Federal law prohibits the presence of either guns or ammunition on campus, so we store our equipment at an offsite location. Team members have access to the gun safes at any time during normal business hours.
Practice
We practice on Wednesday and Friday afternoons and on Saturdays and Sundays. We have flexible practice scheduling so that team members can prioritize their academic responsibilities.
Dues
Members pay dues of $695 per year. We work with all members to make this element practical and affordable. Dues cover targets, shells, equipment, and all travel costs (except food) when we practice or compete.
