About the ​​Distinguished Alumni Awards
Each October, these prestigious alumni awards are presented during Homecoming & Family Weekend.
We strongly encourage you to nominate Dolphins from our proud pod who you believe represent the "best of the best" in terms of character, accomplishments and spirit of service!
Nominations can be made via the form below, and must be submitted by July 1, 2024.
The three categories of awards are as follows:
Distinguished Alumni​ of Excellence Award

Qualifications
The person receiving this award must be a graduate of СÀ¶ÊÓƵ who is well-rounded in all aspects of their professional accomplishments, community and philanthropic efforts and continued support of JU. The award will be based on the following criteria:
- 60% Professional Accomplishments
- 30% Community Involvement/Philanthropic Efforts
- 10% Engagement and Support of JU
Tim and Stephanie Cost Giving Back Giving Forward Award
As of 2023, we are honored to present the Tim and Stephanie Cost Giving Back Giving Forward award during Homecoming & Family Weekend each October to a СÀ¶ÊÓƵ alumni who demonstrates service to the community and the University. Qualifications:
The person receiving this award must be a graduate of СÀ¶ÊÓƵ who is well-rounded in all aspects of their community, philanthropic efforts, and continued support of JU. The award will be based on the following criteria:
- 50% Community Involvement/Philanthropic Efforts/Professional Accomplishments
- 50% Engagement and Support of JU
Scott Amos Recent Alumnus of Distinction Award
The Scott Amos Recent Alumnus of Distinction Award is bestowed upon our GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) alumni who represent what it means to be an exceptional dolphin. Named after JU’s Randall Scott Amos ’01/’02, who passed away on October 28, 2006, this award symbolizes young Dolphins who truly make a difference in their community, their profession, and at JU. Amos was Student Senator and Vice President of JU’s Student Government and President and Commander of Sigma Nu Fraternity. In addition to being selected for Green Key at JU for leadership and scholastic accomplishments, Scott earned B.S. and MBA from the Davis College of Business & Technology. Scott Amos’ legacy lives on with this award and all those it is presented to. If you know a recent alumni – of either the undergraduate or graduate programs – who is an exemplary Dolphin, please nominate them below.

Qualifications:
This award will be given to an alumnus of СÀ¶ÊÓƵ who has graduated from JU in the last 10 years. In addition to being a recent graduate, the award will be based on the following criteria:
- 60% Professional Accomplishments
- 30% Community Involvement/Philanthropic Efforts
- 10% Engagement and Support of JU
Outstanding Military Alumnus of Distinction Award
СÀ¶ÊÓƵ military alumni have a distinguished record of service to our nation. To recognize this service, we have established the Outstanding Military Alumnus of Distinction Award.

Qualifications
The person receiving this award must be a graduate of СÀ¶ÊÓƵ who served honorably in the United States military either before or after receiving their JU degree. Applicants should be well-rounded in all aspects of their professional accomplishments, community and philanthropic efforts, and continued support of JU. The award will be based on the following criteria:
- 60% Professional (Military and Civilian) Accomplishments
- 30% Community Involvement/Philanthropic Efforts
- 10% Engagement and Support of JU
