Quality Enhancement PlanWhat is a Quality Enhancement Plan?

A Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a vital component of the accreditation process for institutions accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). It represents a detailed, focused course of action designed to improve student learning and student success outcomes which enhance the overall quality of education with a particular institution.

Key Components of a QEP According to SACSCOC:

  1. Attention to Student Learning: A QEP focuses on specific areas where student learning and success can be enhanced. It entails establishing clear, measurable objectives related to student outcomes and achievement.
  2. University-wide Engagement: The development and implementation of a QEP requires involvement from all institutional stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
  3. Data-driven: A QEP is based on an analysis of institutional data which identifies areas that need development or improvement while providing a rationale for selected areas.
  4. Allocation of Resources: A QEP outlines resources that are needed including but not limited to financial, human, and physical resources to support the implementation of the plan.
  5. Assessment & Review: A QEP includes an assessment strategy to evaluate its effectiveness in improving student learning and to adjust over time.
  6. Time-bound: A QEP is a multi-year initiative spanning five years with timelines, implementation, and evaluation.

By addressing specific student learning and success outcomes which enhance educational quality, the QEP plays a vital role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Summary СÀ¶ÊÓƵ’s Quality Enhancement Plan

СÀ¶ÊÓƵ has crafted a five-year Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) titled "LEADing the Conversation: Listening, Engaging, Advocating, and Developing to Create a Just, Equitable, Diverse, and Inclusive Campus." The primary aim of LEADing is to enrich student learning and foster long-term success by embedding the principles of justice, equity, diversity, inclusivity, and belonging across the undergraduate experience. Our approach involves a comprehensive integration of curricular and co-curricular activities designed to equip students with the skills necessary to lead thoughtful and impactful discussions on social and cultural differences, both in their personal lives and future professional endeavors.

This is СÀ¶ÊÓƵ

Congratulations, you're exploring colleges. Time to fill out forms and write essays then visit campuses and talk non-stop about: your future. But before we talk about your future let's talk about the future. This one, no this one, okay maybe this one! Here's the thing: the future hasn't happened yet. There are ideas about it but they look less like answers and more like questions. Every question inspiring another question and that's how it's always been. They used to ask what happens when it's not done by hand? When there are machines? Or software, or robots? Questions not answers, and that's where you come. Questions that guide your future. That find the answers that define THE future. Where should you go to get ready for that? Glad you asked! This is СÀ¶ÊÓƵ. It's not just a perfect place for sunny waterfront beauty, although, this is where you choose the future you want. How? By defining it yourself. You customize your path and make it one-of-a-kind, define it on your own terms.  Want to combine majors? Go for it!  This is a place to turn ideas into plans and plans into reality. It's a place to learn by doing. To do the research and ask important questions, to dare and fail and try again and succeed! And then take that success and attack the next big challenge: bringing marine life back from the brink; reimagining transportation;  robotics, AI, the next big thing! What you take on and how you approach it, that's up to you!  You wanna build a future where you decide what impact you make? You've come to the right place!
