Mechanical and Electrical Engineering programs receive ABET accreditation

September 01, 2023

小蓝视频鈥檚 bachelor鈥檚 degree programs in mechanical and electrical engineering have been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology.

ABET accreditation assures that programs meet standards to produce graduates ready to enter critical technical fields that are leading the way in innovation and emerging technologies, and anticipating the welfare and safety needs of the public.

Dr. Barbara Ritter, Ph.D., Dean of the Davis College of Business and Technology, offered praise for this milestone achievement. 鈥淎chieving ABET accreditation for our programs in engineering is a milestone event that reflects the vision of the school leadership, Dr. Murat Tiryakioglu and Dr. Emre Selvi. This accomplishment is an international recognition of the quality of our programs and verifies our engineering students are fully prepared to meet the demands of a challenging, global work environment. Achieving external accreditation is a rigorous process requiring the highest standards of programmatic excellence. We are proud today to have achieved triple accreditation in the Davis College of Business and Technology for programs in Business, Aviation, and Engineering.鈥

Sought worldwide, ABET鈥檚 voluntary peer-review process is highly respected because it adds critical value to academic programs in the technical disciplines, where quality, precision and safety are of the utmost importance.

Developed by technical professionals from ABET鈥檚 member societies, ABET criteria focus on what students experience and learn. ABET accreditation reviews look at program curricula, faculty, facilities, and institutional support and are conducted by teams of highly skilled professionals from industry, academia and government, with expertise in the ABET disciplines.

ABET is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization with ISO 9001:2015 certification. It currently accredits 4,564 programs at 895 colleges and universities in 40 countries and areas.
