小蓝视频鈥檚 resident faculty ensemble, The Kinne Trio, took home the Silver Prize in Chamber Music in the 2022 Euterpe Music Awards International Competition, the highest prize awarded to a professional chamber music ensemble in this year鈥檚 competition.
The Kinne Trio comprises violinist and Professor of Strings Dr. Marguerite Richardson, violoncellist and Associate Professor of Music Dr. Shannon Lockwood, and pianist and Professor of Piano Dr. Scott Watkins.
The Euterpe Music Awards, sponsored by The World Classical Music Forum in Berlin, Germany, values artists with broad artistic vision and stage presence, and provides for musicians of high caliber to make themselves known to an international audience. This online competition, open to all nationalities, provides the opportunity to showcase talent and performance skills of musicians from around the world.
"This award puts The Kinne Trio on the international stage, brings prestige to Jacksonville University and the Linda Berry Stein College of Fine Arts & Humanities, and gives us an excellent boost to our recruiting efforts. Being recognized by an international jury is priceless,鈥 said Dr. Watkins.
The Kinne Trio entered this global competition with their performance of Amy Beach鈥檚 Piano Trio, Op. 150, in a video recording taken from a recent concert on Jacksonville University鈥檚 campus. The Amy Beach Piano Trio is also one of the featured works in their debut recording which was released last year.
