Alternative Education Certification
The Alternative Education Certification coursework at СÀ¶ÊÓƵ (JU) allows teachers to upskill their instructional practices with the foundational knowledge needed to be highly qualified and effective in the classroom. Our courses prepare educators to work with students of all backgrounds and experiences, including students experiencing learning or behavioral difficulties, English Language Learners, and students with special needs. Course topics include research-based multisensory reading instruction, multicultural education, character-based classroom management, effective instructional strategies for diverse student populations, English Language Learners, and educational assessment. JU is committed to making differences in K-12 children’s experiences and supporting professional educators. Our coursework:
- offers 1-credit graduate courses in three-week sessions throughout the year
- offers courses with careful thought towards working professionals
- allows you to earn graduate credits toward graduate programs
- offers all classes fully online
- offers a rate of $300 per credit hour
- offers courses to be taken on an as needed based on individual statement of eligibility from the State DOE
- is available to any teacher in the State of Florida

Admission
These classes are for Florida teachers only. All applicants must provide a valid State of Florida (temporary or professional) teaching certificate and/or valid Statement of Eligibility issued by State of Florida.
